A Modern Golf Course Layout Designed for Precision and Variety
Millennium Golf Course in Vilamoura is one of the region’s most popular destinations for golfers seeking a balance between challenge, beauty, and accessibility in the heart of The Golden Triangle.
Designed by Martin Hawtree, the course showcases contemporary golf architecture with a focus on strategy, wide fairways, and well-protected greens. Its location near Vilamoura’s marina and luxury resorts makes it an ideal choice for visitors who want a complete Algarve golfing experience.
Course Overview
The par-72 layout of Millennium spans roughly 6,200 meters and is designed to test both skill and decision-making. It offers a combination of open, airy holes and tighter, tree-lined fairways, providing a variety of challenges:
* Strategic bunkering and water hazards placed to reward thoughtful play
* Elevated greens and undulating fairways that require precise shot-making
* Wide landing areas for longer hitters, combined with technical approach shots
* Signature holes, including the par-5 6th and par-4 12th, which integrate water and sand features for a dramatic effect
Millennium’s design is particularly praised for its balance, ensuring that both mid-handicap and advanced players can enjoy a rewarding round while experiencing some memorable challenges.
